Blight Tax Properties

  • A complaint is received by phone, mail, email, or officer area survey.
  • The complaint is assigned to an officer who inspects the property.
  • The property MUST be vacant.
  • The code officer completes a blight inspection form.
  • County Attorneys review forms and Blight Designation is sent to the property owner.
  • The property owner can appeal for Blight Designation.
  • Properties that were not appealed are declared Blighted by the court are placed on the Community Redevelopment Tax Incentive Program(CRTIP) list to submit to the Tax Commissioner. The list is due each year in August.
