Board of Commissioners

Composed of ten members, the Macon-Bibb Commission is the legislative branch of the Macon-Bibb County Government. This body enacts the laws, ordinances, and resolutions for local consolidated government. Commissioners are elected every four years.

The Macon-Bibb County Commission meet at 6:00 p.m. every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month and Committees meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at Macon City Hall (700 Poplar Street).

Your Voice Matters

The Macon-Bibb County Board of Commissioners would like to hear from you on issues you feel need to be discussed. Tell us what you like and dislike. Do you have a solution to a problem? Why not address your issue at the next Commission Meeting, which happens on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in Chambers (700 Poplar Street) beginning at 6:00 p.m.?

Macon-Bibb County Clerk of the Commission

Janice Ross 

Janice Ross has been named Clerk for Macon-Bibb County after serving as Assistant Clerk of Commission and the Training and Events Coordinator for the consolidated government. Prior to consolidation, Janice worked with the Bibb County Board of Commissioners for almost 10 years as an Administrative Assistant and then as Executive Assistant.  Janice holds a Clerks Masters Education Management Program Certificate and a Management Development Program Certificate from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
