The training division’s roles and responsibilities within the organization are to oversee the training of departmental personnel in all capacities as it relates to recruit, line-staff, special operations and emergency medical services disciplines. As a division their responsibilities are not only meeting and maintaining accreditation with Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council, but to also provide professional development of the organization’s personnel. Part of their function is to ensure that the minimum level of ISO accreditation training is achieved, recorded and maintained in our fire record database.
Chief Parker has been with the organization since 2005 and obtained several awards at the local and state level relating to his abilities of leading and teaching the next generation of firefighters. Currently he holds the following levels of education and certifications: Associate in Fire Science, Georgia Chief Fire Officer, Fire Officer III, POST Instructor, Instructor II, Live Fire Instructor and EMT Basic. In addition, he has been a member of the Georgia Search and Rescue Team (GSAR) since 2008.
