School is almost out and it’s time for fun! Registration is open now for summer camps with our Parks and Recreation Department. The cost is $180 per child for the six-week program, and children ages 5 to 15 can participate. The camps run from June 6 until July 15, lasting each day from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The cost of the camp includes breakfast and lunch, field trips in the community, swimming, educational and enrichment activities, supplies for crafts, and other activities.
“The theme for our camps this year is ‘Macon Our Impact.’ We want our young people to learn about themselves and make friends, while also being a part of our community,” says Recreation Director Robert Walker. “These children will be able to make memories that will last a lifetime, and that’s part of our mission at Parks & Rec.”
The camps are offered at the following centers: L.H. Williams, Memorial, South Bibb, Freedom Park, Bloomfield-Gilead, Kings Park, Delores A. Brooks, Frank Johnson, Rosa Jackson, and Theron Ussery,
