Macon-Bibb kicked off Black History Month with a visit from a very special guest. Mayor Lester Miller and the Friends of Rosa Parks Square welcomed the niece of civil rights icon Rosa Parks, Susan McCauley, at City on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
“It is a huge honor to have Ms. Susan McCauley come all this way to visit our city and Rosa Parks Square,” said Mayor Lester Miller. “Her aunt is a true legend, and we are thrilled to celebrate her birthday and her legacy this week.”
Mayor Miller presented a proclamation to Susan McCauley, declaring February 1 as Rosa Parks Square Day. You can read the full proclamation here. He also gave her a Key to the City for Macon-Bibb.
