More than 200 people took their voices to Fall Line Brewing Co. and Linear Park to give input on the Macon Action Plan (MAP).
On Wednesday, August 23, more than 65 people went to Linear Park to speak with Macon-Bibb County and Pleasant Hill Neighborhood leaders about what improvements they would like to see done to their park.
“A lot of residents were really happy that someone came to them to ask them what they wanted done to the park,” said Tedra Huston with the Pleasant Hill Neighborhood Organization. “We got a lot of great feed back from a variety of people, ages 4 to 83 years old. It was great.”
If you missed this opportunity, you still have some input on plans for Linear Park by going to Pleasant Hill Neighborhood Organization meeting on Saturday, September 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the L.H. Williams Community Center (325 Pursley Street). You can also stop by the Booker T. Washington Community Center (401 Monroe Street) before September 9. The input is vital and is part of the Macon Action Plan.
On Thursday, August 24, more than 150 people showed up to Fall Line Brewing Co. to be part of the MAP 3.0 conversation. This was an opportunity for people to learn more about the Plan, ask questions, and give feedback on what they want Macon’s Downtown and Intown Neighborhoods to look like.
“People who came out were really engaging with the process, absorbing the information, and giving their feedback,” said Urban Development Authority Executive Director Alex Morrison. “A lot of people who I’ve never seen in these rooms are here, which just shows when you earnestly plan you get a cross section in the community that reflects its diversity in a broader way.”
