More than 100 people represented Macon in the best way possible at Macon Day on Wednesday, February 19. The full day at the State Capitol was hosted by the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce.
The day began with an early morning of loading two buses of community partners, program sponsors, and the Leadership Macon Class of 2025, heading to the State Capitol. They had a full day of speakers such as Georgia public officials and state policy experts discussing issues and opportunities impacting the Macon region.
“Macon Day made our presence seen and heard at the State Capitol,” said Chamber President/CEO Jessica Walden. “From our full day of advocacy at the Gold Dome to our fish fry reception that showcased the best of Macon, it was a day for Georgia to remember, especially when it comes to our collective impact on the State.”
Following the day at the Gold Dome, people headed over to the Georgia Freight Depot for the Macon Day Fish Fry. The reception was aimed to showcase the best of Macon, including recent headlines like Wall Street Journal naming Macon one of the “Top 25” to visit in 2025. There was live music with Macon’s own Dean Brown and a full concert by the Macon Music Revue, which covered Little Richard, the Allman Brothers Band, Otis Redding, and more. There was also a special musical guest, Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper, who joined the band on stage.
