Are you ready to make a splash? Our Recreation Department is looking for lifeguards for our pools this summer. The job pays $14 per hour, and you’ll work 35-40 hours per week.

All county lifeguards must be certified through the Red Cross, but the Recreation Department pays for that training. If you’re able to swim and are legal to work in the U.S., you can apply. The next training sessions with the Red Cross are May 20 and 21, so the sooner you apply, the sooner you can get signed up for training. Click here to apply.

“We are ready for everyone to have fun in the sun this summer at our pools, but we’ve got to make sure it’s done safely,” says Recreation Director Robert Walker. “The pools are one of the most popular features each year, and we pride ourselves on hiring and training knowledgeable and attentive lifeguards to make sure everyone can enjoy them for years to come.”

Pools officially open Saturday, May 28 (Memorial Day Weekend).  They will be open Tuesday – Saturday, and are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Click here to visit the employment page on our website and apply to be a lifeguard.
