Girls Dig Deeper Initiative to host Fall Break Camp for teen girls

The Girls Dig Deeper Initiative (GDDI) is hosting its first 3-day Fall Break Camp, designed to empower young girls through personal growth, active engagement, and exploration. The camp will take place from October 7–9, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 690 Holt Ave.

Teen girls, ages 13-17, will have the opportunity to engage in activities focused on self-development, creativity, and learning, fostering both confidence and curiosity in a supportive and inspiring environment.

“We are thrilled to provide girls with a space to grow, explore, and discover their full potential,” said GDDI Founder Najiva Timothee. “Our Fall Break Camp is all about meaningful experiences that build skills and confidence for the future.”

GDDI, through Macon Violence Prevention (MVP), has offered the Dig Deep Series for teen girls, a mentorship program for girls, money management classes, community wellness and leadership events, teen mental health & conflict resolution seminars, and more. Between 2022 and 2024, GDDI received $30,000 in grant funding from (MVP) through the Community Foundation of Central Georgia.

Fall Break Camp Schedule

Tuesday, October 7 : WHO AM I? LAB. This is a workshop for teen girls to learn about their identity and the power they have in defining themselves.
Wednesday, October 8: Construction Workshop.Girls will roll up their sleeves to build and decorate a mini planter box using real tools. Along the way, they’ll learn basic construction skills and take home a creation that’s all their own.

Thursday, October 9: GDDI Paint with the 567 Center. This is an artist led painting session. A fun evening of art therapy providing enhanced self esteem and confidence in the creation of their artwork.
