On Tuesday, April 28, the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department presented a $4,500 check to staff at United in Pink as a result of what they raised during the annual Pink Pancake Breakfast.
The funds donated were raised during this year’s Pink Pancake Breakfast in March, during the Cherry Blossom Festival. The Fire Department sold tickets for an all-you-can-eat breakfast of pink pancakes, sausage, bacon, and orange juice, with proceeds benefitting United in Pink.
“This is always a labor of love for our department,” said Fire Chief Shane Edwards. “We are proud to support United in Pink and the important work they do to help individuals and families in our community affected by breast cancer.”
“The United in Pink family is incredibly grateful for the Macon-Bibb Fire Department and their commitment to our community. Proceeds will make a direct impact on families in the Central Georgia area that have been affected by a breast cancer diagnosis,” said United in Pink Associate Director Devin Hollis. “United in Pink is dedicated to ensuring that no one fights this disease alone, and we are appreciative of the Macon-Bibb Fire Department for supporting our mission!”
Other key partners who made the Pink Pancake Breakfast possible include the Macon Bacon, Kroger, Bey & Associates, and more.
