New year, new calendar! The Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is making it easy to stay prepared in 2026 by offering free Emergency Preparedness Calendars filled with helpful safety tips.

Created in partnership with students from across our community, this is the third Emergency Preparedness Calendar produced by EMA. The calendars are now available at locations throughout Macon-Bibb County, listed below.

“Our calendars provide a fun, simple, and engaging way for students to learn about disaster preparedness,” said EMA Special Projects Officer Sophie Rosen. “By empowering students to take safety into their own hands, the calendars help build awareness at an early age. Students then take those conversations home, encouraging families to plan and act together to stay safe.”

Students from multiple Bibb County schools participated in an art contest held in September, creating artwork that illustrates how people can stay safe before and during emergencies. Alongside the student artwork, the calendar includes important preparedness tips and information from EMA.

Students featured in this year’s calendar include Kamryn Grayer, Kelly Nguyen, and Olivia Hoan from Sonny Carter Elementary; Ari’Anna Stubbs from John R. Lewis Elementary; Henry Cozart, Meniah Rondina, Evie Wilcox, and Muhammad Sufyan Siddiqui from the Academy for Classical Education; Olivia Laney, Ryder Lee, and Noah Sneed from Vineville Academy of the Arts; Tinsley Haynes from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School; and Dayson Wong from Mount de Sales Academy. Several additional students are also recognized with honorable mentions.
