The Earth Day Festival is finally back following a two-year break. It’s happening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, at Tattnall Square Park. It’s an all-ages, family-friendly event, and everyone is encouraged to attend. Click here for the event page on Facebook.
“We are so excited to finally bring back this festival after being stalled by the pandemic,” says Festival Co-Coordinator Rachel Gambill. “Earth Day of course means taking care our community and planet, but it also means taking care of ourselves physically and mentally so we can be better stewards of our planet. We’re looking forward to a day of fun for our families!”
The Mulberry Market will be set up, featuring local vendors with fresh produce and other handmade goods. Throughout the day there will be bicycle giveaways, physical fitness and wellness activities, free t-shirts for kids who complete the Kids Zone activities, free Pickleball play at the Tattnall Square Tennis and Pickleball Center, live music from The Dubshak Reggae Band, and local animal groups will have some friendly creatures for everyone to meet. There will also be educational vendors set up so we can learn about different green initiatives in our community.
Our Recreation Department has planned a schedule of activity as well for anyone to participate:
Zumba W/Charlie: 3:30pm – 4:00pm
Yoga W/Linda: 4:00pm – 4:45pm
Acro Kids W/Jessica: 5:00pm – 5:30pm
