You can now take your trash and debris off your property and dispose of it properly at your own convenience. Our first new Convenience Center is officially open!

On Thursday, March 10, Mayor Lester Miller, Commissioners, departments, and partners held a ribbon cutting to commemorate the opening of the new Center at 1010 11th Street. It will be open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

“When you do your part and use this facility we are providing you with, it frees up time for us to provide better services for our community,” said Mayor Miller. “Keeping our community clean and vibrant is a team effort.”

Those taking material to the Center must be a Macon-Bibb County resident and bring a valid driver’s license of I.D. The Center accepts bagged household trash, furniture, sofas, chairs, TVs, yard debris, building material (treated wood without nails), sinks, toilets, paints, batteries, and recycling. The Center does not accept insulation or roofing material.

This is the first of at least five Convenience Centers coming to different areas of the County to make it easier for people to use. The next two Centers are already in the works.
