At a ceremony on Friday, May 8, 2020, a group of 22 recruits took part in a graduation ceremony. They’re now officially Macon-Bibb County Firefighters. Class 1902 spent months training to fight fires, perform EMT duties, practice what it’s like to work in high-pressure, dangerous situations, and learning the ins and outs of being a firefighter in Macon-Bibb County. Since they’re families were unable to attend graduation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MaconBibbTV live-streamed the ceremony so everyone could cheer them on from home.
