October is National Arts and Humanities Month, and Macon-Bibb County is celebrating the creativity, culture, and talent that make our community so special!

On Thursday, October 15, Commissioner Brendalyn Bailey presented a proclamation on behalf of Mayor Lester Miller recognizing October as National Arts and Humanities Month in Macon-Bibb County.

From music and literature to painting, dance, film, and more, Macon-Bibb has a rich history of artists and creatives who have helped shape our community and leave a lasting impact far beyond our county.

National Arts and Humanities Month is celebrated across the country each October to recognize the importance of arts and culture in our everyday lives. It’s also an opportunity to highlight the people and organizations working to make the arts accessible to everyone.

Beyond enriching our culture, the arts and humanities play an important role in our local economy, tourism, education, and overall quality of life. They bring people together, tell our stories, and help make Macon-Bibb a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

Through this proclamation, Macon-Bibb County encourages everyone to celebrate the month by supporting local artists, visiting galleries and museums, attending performances, and exploring the many ways art brings our community together.
