Celebrating National Healthcare and Quality Week and International Infection Prevention Week

The week of October 16 – 22, 2022 is officially recognized as both National Healthcare and Quality Week and International Infection Prevention Week. Mayor Lester Miller presented Atrium Health Navicent with a proclamation for this week. You can read it here.  

The National Healthcare Quality Week was established by the National Association of Healthcare Quality in 1985, to recognize and celebrate the contribution of healthcare quality experts in their various organizations. International infection Prevention Week is observed each year to educate stakeholders and the public on the importance of preventing the spread of illnesses and infectious agents. 

The goal of this week is for central Georgians to familiarize themselves with ways to prevent the spread of infectious disease and to celebrate the healthcare professionals who work to ensure patients receive the best quality healthcare possible.
