Grant has held the highest average in English and Language Arts for two consecutive years. He has been on the honor roll for all of his life and has been nominated for the Governor’s Honor Program. He is a member of Student Council, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), Mock Trial, AP Club, section leader for the Marching Huskies, and Team Robobibb. He volunteers at Good Will and Evergreen Baptist Church. Grant believes, “civic education is one of the most critical but under-appreciated topics being discussed/taught among young people. Young people are the future and civic education provides the framework of how a society of citizens should cooperate and work together to further themselves and their community.” In addition to representing MBC in the Inaugural “Ambassadors in Sneakers” Human Rights Academy sponsored by the German Government, Grant traveled to Kurobe, Japan to celebrate MBC’s 40th Year Anniversary with its International Sister City. He was also a Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP)—a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school students. He is a Ron Brown Scholar having competed against more than 4,000 nationwide applicants. Grant is a second-year member of the Macon-Bibb County GCAPS Youth Commission.
