What’s new with economic development in Macon-Bibb County? We’re catching up with someone who knows all about it!

On the latest episode of Macon It, we’re welcoming back Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority Executive Director Stephen Adams for his second appearance on the podcast. This time, he’s sharing updates on the Industrial Authority’s work to attract new businesses, support existing industries, and create more opportunities for our community.

One of the biggest topics of conversation is the new Advanced Manufacturing Pathway (AMP), an initiative designed to introduce local students to careers in manufacturing and help prepare them for opportunities right here in Middle Georgia.

The program officially launched in August through a partnership between the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority, Bibb County School District, and W.S. Hutchings College and Career Academy. It connects students with hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to explore the skills needed for careers in advanced manufacturing.

During the episode, Adams talks about why programs like AMP are so important, not only for students planning their futures, but also for local industries looking to build a strong, skilled workforce.

We also discuss what’s happening across Macon-Bibb County’s industrial landscape, the importance of bringing new investment to our community, and how the Industrial Authority is working to support long-term economic growth.
