Macon-Bibb County will hold an additional public hearing regarding the millage rate on Wednesday, September 9, at 9:00 a.m. Following the hearing, the Commission will vote to adopt a millage rate. Both meetings will be held in Commission Chambers at City Hall at 700 Poplar Street.
The millage rate is being recommended to remain the same at 9.575 mills, which is higher than the rollback rate and thus requires the public hearings. The recommended millage rate is more than 50% lower than Fiscal Year 2021 when it was 20.331.
Other hearings for the millage rate were held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.; Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.; and Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 6:01 p.m.
