One of Macon-Bibb’s sweetest Cherry Blossom Festival traditions is returning to the ballpark.
The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department is once again hosting its Pink Pancake Breakfast, giving families a chance to enjoy a fun morning at Historic Luther Williams Field while supporting an important cause.
The breakfast will take place on Saturday, March 21 and Saturday, March 28, during both weekends of the International Cherry Blossom Festival. From 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., firefighters will be serving up all-you-can-eat pink pancakes, sausage, bacon, coffee, and orange juice inside the stadium.
For the sixth year, the Fire Department is partnering with the Macon Bacon to help make the event even more exciting for guests.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 5 and under.
Money raised from the breakfast will support United in Pink, a Central Georgia organization that provides emotional, social, and financial support to individuals and families affected by breast cancer. The organization’s programs focus on improving quality of life and addressing health disparities for families navigating a cancer diagnosis.
While guests enjoy breakfast in the stands, the Fire Department and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office will also provide some friendly competition on the field. The two departments will face off in a softball game beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The Pink Pancake Breakfast has been a community favorite for decades, and Fire Chief Shane Edwards says the department is proud to keep the tradition going.
“This event brings our firefighters and the community together for a great cause,” said Chief Edwards. “It is always special to see families come out, enjoy the morning together, and support an organization that helps so many people in our community.”
The Fire Department will also be selling calendars at a discounted price.
