Memorial Park to get SPLOST-funded improvements

On Monday, March 17, Macon-Bibb County and the Recreation Department will celebrate the beginning of the next phase of  improvements project at Memorial Park Recreation Center with a groundbreaking ceremony at 2:30 p.m. It will be broadcasted live on www.Facebook.com/MaconBibbCounty. 

“We are really excited about the much-needed upgrades at Memorial,” said Recreation Director Robert Walker. “Our kids and community deserve the best. We know this construction period will be well worth it!”  

The Recreation Center will get two new pavilions, an inclusive playground, pool upgrades, renovations to the baseball field, and resurfacing of basketball and tennis courts. This $1,110,000 renovation project is made possible through the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).
