The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department traded in their fire hoses for golf clubs on Friday, October 16, for its annual MDA Golf Tournament at Historic Bowden Golf Course!

Firefighters, golfers, and community members came together for a day of friendly competition, all while supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and its mission to help individuals and families impacted by muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular diseases.

Golfers hit the course bright and early, competing for cash prizes for first, second, and third place. Participants also had the opportunity to support the cause through a silent auction.

“This tournament gives us a chance to come together, have a good time, and support families who are facing incredibly difficult challenges,” said Fire Chief Shane Edwards. “Our firefighters have a long history of supporting MDA, and we’re proud to continue that tradition.”

The annual tournament is just one of the ways our Fire Department gives back to the community and supports families beyond the work firefighters do every day.

Thank you to everyone who participated, sponsored, and helped make this year’s tournament possible!
