The Fiscal Year 2019 (July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019) Budget was approved at a Commission Meeting on Thursday, July 28, 2018. After two called meetings on June 29 and July 3, 2018, the Operations and Finance Committee approved multiple amendments to the Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19) Budget to be considered by the full Commission.

At its meeting the night of July 3, the Commission approved all but one of those amendments, restoring funding to the Recreation and Parks & Beautification Departments, Historic Bowden Golf Course, and our outside agencies, with the exception of Navicent. These amendments also came with increases to the proposed millage rate, and the funds will only be available if the corresponding millage is approved in mid-August.

Outside agencies that would receive funding include: Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority, Middle Georgia Regional Library System, Department of Family & Child Services, Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Commission, Museum of Arts & Sciences, Tubman African American Museum, Macon Arts Alliance, Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, Planning & Zoning, Urban Development Authority, Industrial Authority, Land Bank Authority, Community Enhancement Authority, Board of Physical Health, Board of Mental Health, Citizens Advocacy, Meals on Wheels, Middle Georgia Food Bank, Economic Opportunity Council, and Historic Douglass Theatre.

If you were unable to make the meetings, the budget can be viewed and the meetings watched using the links below.
