Amerson River Park, the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail, and the Walker Road landfill remain closed and will remain closed until the Ocmulgee River recedes to a safe level and crews are able to assess damages and clean those areas.

Several large holes have opened up in the field near Porter Pavilion in Amerson River Park, so people should stay out of the Park. To view pictures of the flooding in Amerson River Park and Heritage Trail, as well as some of the damage, click here.

According to the National Weather Service , the Ocmulgee River is at about 27.04 feet (at  3pm on Friday). We’re forecast to peak at 27.5 feet very early Saturday morning.
