Take a mental health break and head to Mattie Hubbard Jones Park (1944 2nd Avenue) for the monthly Macon Mental Health Matters (MMHM) Pop-Up Gym on Saturday, March 11.
Activities start, rain or shine, at 10:00 a.m. and go until 1:00 p.m. It’s free and open to people of all ages, and even their furry friends. You can participate in yoga, a drum circle, meditation, and other services.
“March 30 is world Bipolar awareness day, so we want to help our community become more aware about the signs and symptoms of bipolar disorder,” says MMHM Coordinator Andrea Cooke. “Counselors will be available to answer questions and will provide information for how to take better care of your mental health.”
MMHM is also teaming up with People and Pets Project once again to offer care for you and your pets by providing wellness exams and vaccines. BeU=P.I.E. – a non-profit organization that caters to young girls/young adults between the ages of 10-21 – will also be in attendance to promote uniqueness, purpose, passion, and creativity.
MMHM provides free pop-up gyms every second Saturday of the month, rain or shine, at different locations throughout Macon-Bibb County.
