Unified Legacy breaks ground on $125 million manufacturing facility

A major investment in Macon-Bibb County is officially underway.

On Monday, August 3, Unified Legacy Group broke ground on a new $125 million precision manufacturing facility at on Barnes Ferry Road, marking another major step forward for economic development and job creation in the community.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp, U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler, Macon-Bibb County Mayor Lester Miller, and other state and local leaders joined Unified Legacy representatives to celebrate the milestone.

The new facility is expected to create nearly 500 jobs over the next several years and expand Unified Legacy’s growing presence in Middle Georgia. The company’s Unified Defense facility has operated in nearby Byron since 2022.

“This is a tremendous investment in Macon-Bibb County and, more importantly, an investment in our people,” said Mayor Lester Miller. “Nearly 500 new jobs means hundreds of new opportunities for people to build careers, support their families, and create a future right here in our community. We’re proud to have Unified Legacy in Macon-Bibb and look forward to watching them grow alongside our community.”

Unified Legacy provides precision fabrication, machining, and manufacturing solutions for the defense, aerospace, data center, and industrial markets.

The groundbreaking represents a $125 million investment in Macon-Bibb and the beginning of a project expected to bring hundreds of new career opportunities to the community while strengthening Middle Georgia’s growing manufacturing sector.
