These past summer days have been HOT! If you need to cool down, you now have a couple more options in our community. Starting Saturday, June 18, the pool at the Frank Johnson Recreation Center will be open in addition to the other pools at Delores A. Brooks, Booker T. Washington, and South Bibb. The splash pad at Daisy Park (1021 Daisy Park) will also open on Saturday at 8:00am – 8:00pm.
The pools are open to anyone who wants to swim, and cost $1 per person, per day. The pools are open from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
“Our pools are one of our most popular features every year. As we all know, it gets hot here in Macon-Bibb, and we want to provide a fun and safe way to cool off,” says Recreation Director Robert Walker. “As with all our Recreation activities, we want to make sure everyone is safe while they play. Make sure you follow the posted rules and listen to the lifeguards.”
The Recreation Department is still in need of more lifeguards. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a lifeguard, click here.
