Macon Mental Health Matters (MMHM) is holding its next monthly Pop-Up Gym on Saturday, June 10, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Bloomfield-Gilead Recreation Center (1931 Rocky Creek Road). It’s free and open to people of all ages, and even their furry friends. You can participate in yoga, a drum circle, meditation, and other services. All activities will happen rain or shine.
“We are so excited to return to the Bloomfield area and provide needed resources and support to people and families,” said MMHM Coordinator Andrea Cooke. “Our gyms give people a chance to check in on themselves and take advantage of these free services. We want you to bring your family and friends…because mental health matters.”
In addition to free mental health services:
- People and Pets Project will offer care for you and your pets by providing wellness exams and vaccines.
- BeU=P.I.E. – a non-profit organization that caters to young girls/young adults between the ages of 10-21 – will promote uniqueness, purpose, passion, and creativity.
- The Melanated Community Stimulation Project, Inc. will bring free and fresh produce for families in need.
- Napier Heights Food Co-op and Society of St. Andrews Church will give families free food, including squash, zucchini, onions, green bell peppers, cabbage, and possibly cucumbers.
MMHM provides free pop-up gyms every second Saturday of the month, rain or shine, at different locations throughout Macon-Bibb County. Follow them on Facebook for the schedule of the gyms and many other free services.
