Mayor holds Council of Clergy Luncheon

On Thursday, October 9, Mayor Lester Miller held the Council of Clergy Luncheon at Central Georgia Technical College.

“We’re always glad to come together and connect with so many impactful leaders who are driving change in our community,” said Mayor Miller. “Each time, it’s a chance to share ideas, learn from one another, and strengthen how we work together.”

Speakers included Dr. Jimmie Smith with the Department of Public Health, Alex Habersham and Charise Stephens Merriweather with the Central Georgia Coalition of Black Business, and Dr. Ivan Allen President of Central Georgia Technical College.

The purpose of the Council of the Mayor’s Clergy is “Building a Better Community”. The vision of the Council of Clergy is to “Promote Unity in the Community by Partnering with Government and Related Agencies”. The Mission of the Council of Clergy is to “Build a Better Community by Fostering Healthy Racial Relations”.
