EMA hosts cookout for ESF partners

On Wednesday, September 24, the Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) hosted its annual Emergency Support Function (ESF) Cookout, an event honoring the community partners who play a crucial role in keeping the county safe and prepared. From daily readiness to emergency response, these partners are essential to the success of local emergency management efforts.

“Emergency management is a team effort,” said the EMA Director. “We have the best teammates with our emergency support functions. Once a year at our cookout we like to stop for a moment and say thank you for all the work that they do to make this emergency management operation a reality. And having a cheeseburger and an ice-cold soda pop makes things a little more fun.”

The cookout offered a chance to express gratitude for the dedication, collaboration, and teamwork these partners provide year-round. Events like this highlight the strength of community partnerships and the importance of working together to keep Macon-Bibb safe.
