Looking to run one of Georgia’s newest half marathons? Want to run a race that features some of Macon and Georgia’s most iconic musical features? Need a race as a goal to keep you on your exercise training plan? Always thought about running a longer race and need one to work toward?

Well…there’s one coming up in Macon, and you have time to train for it!

Registration is now open for the first-ever Macon Music Half Marathon happening November 4, 2023! It’s the first half marathon organized by the Macon Tracks in nearly 20 years, and it’s supported by Macon-Bibb County, Visit Macon, Atrium Health Navicent, Mercer University, SimpleNexus, and James, Bates, Brannen, & Groover.

“Runners will pass as many of our musical locations as possible, showcasing our musical heritage and history to the state and the Southeast,” says FM Barron with Macon Tracks. “This will be an experience like no other.”

“Recreation…tourism…economic development…all top priorities for our community that this race will help, and I want to thank the Tracks and partners for working together to make this happen,” says Mayor Lester Miller. “I want to encourage you to run if you’re able…and if you don’t run, come stand along the route or at the finish line to cheer on family, friends, and visitors.”

“Runners typically travel several hours for races like this, and then spend the weekend in those cities,” says Visit Macon President & CEO Gary Wheat. “So, we’re fully expecting runners and families from around the state and Southeast to join us in Macon-Bibb for a great time.”

You can sign up for the race by clicking here. Macon Tracks is also looking for sponsors and volunteers. Click hereto follow the Facebook page for updates.
