If you missed the public design input sessions for the amphitheater last week, don’t worry! There’s still a way for you to share your thoughts and ideas about the new amphitheater coming to the Macon Mall. That includes what kind of food and drinks you want at the venue, what businesses would be preferred to move in there, and ask questions or share concerns.

You can answer the same questions asked at the public sessions by filling out an online survey through Friday, March 11. You can get to that survey by clicking here.

More than 60 people attended the two in-person public sessions at the Mall on Thursday, March 3, to speak with the Design Build Team and other county leaders. Sessions were held in the morning and early afternoon, as well as the evening to everyone got the opportunity to attend, see the renderings up close, and ask questions.

“We heard the concerns of neighbors who, despite worrying about noise, are thrilled at the prospect of having this first-class facility in their neighborhood,” said Urban Development Authority Executive Director Alex Morrison. “By using this online survey, we want to give even more people a chance to let us know how they think the amphitheater will best be designed to help our entire community.”

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on February 24 to celebrate the start of this process, and more than 200 people were in attendance. To read more about what this means to the community, click here, and to view a video from that event, click here.

Last month, Macon-Bibb County Urban Development Authority – acting on behalf of Macon-Bibb County – approved the selection of TVS, Piedmont Construction Group, Stage Front, and HGOR as the Design/Build Team for the new outdoor amphitheater. You can read more here.
