Get ready for a day full of music, dancing, delicious food, and culture! The 5th Annual Macon-Bibb Hispanic Festival is happening this Saturday, October 24, from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Cherry Street Plaza (340 Cherry Street) in Downtown Macon!
The festival is FREE and open to everyone, bringing the community together to celebrate Hispanic and Latino cultures, traditions, and the people who make Macon-Bibb County such a special place.
This year’s celebration is shaping up to be the biggest one yet! Visitors can expect live music, cultural performances, dancing, delicious food from seven food trucks, free children’s activities, and more than 70 vendors showcasing Hispanic-owned businesses, handmade goods, and community resources.
“We started this festival five years ago with a goal of bringing people together, celebrating our cultures, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome,” said Hispanic Festival Committee Member Edna Ruiz Adams. “To see how much it has grown, and how our community continues to show up and support it, is really special. We want everyone to come out, bring their families, experience something new, and celebrate with us!”
Thanks to the generosity of local sponsors, admission and activities are free, and vendors are able to participate without paying a fee. The only thing attendees need to bring money for is food and any items they wish to purchase from vendors.
And the party doesn’t stop at 7:00 p.m.! Once the festival wraps up, the celebration continues at Hightales Rooftop Bar at Hotel Forty Five at 8:00 p.m. with an after-party featuring dance lessons by Macon Latin Connections and music from DJ Brooks! It’s another chance to keep dancing and celebrating Hispanic culture in Downtown Macon.
Switch Macon is also partnering with the Macon-Bibb Hispanic Festival for a Dia De Los Muertos Brunch on Sunday, November 1. Click here to learn more.
The Macon-Bibb Hispanic Festival began in 2022 as an initiative of the Office of Small Business Affairs and NotiVision Georgia. Now organized by a dedicated committee of community volunteers, the festival has grown into an annual celebration that highlights the contributions of Hispanic and Latino residents while bringing people from all backgrounds together.
Whether you’re coming for the food, music, shopping, or simply to experience something new, there’s something for everyone!
