At the Macon-Bibb County Commission Meeting on November 5, 2019, Pastor Marshall Tripp of Tremont Temple Baptist Church delivered the invocation.
Marshall “Tripp” Mabry, III, is the Senior Pastor of Tremont Temple Baptist Church in Macon, GA. A duly consecrated Bishop, a noted speaker, author of 3 books and church planter. Pastor Mabry has an approach to ministry that has been considered unorthodox because of his mixture of contemporary theology and practical real life sermons. Through the process of becoming the Word spoken by God over his life, Bishop Mabry served in many capacities within the church before pastoring. Through his submission to and exposition of the Word of God, Marshall Mabry continues to leave an indelible mark on the lives of those who seek the true and living God. His desire for in-depth examination of spiritual truths, combined with effective oratory skills make him a sought after revivalist. Marshall “Tripp” Mabry is not only a minister of the gospel but also an entrepreneur. He serves as President& CEO of The Mabry Group, a public relations agency that focuses on marketing, consulting and management of persons within the entertainment industry. His educational accomplishments include Mercer University, and Logos University where he is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Leadership/Management. Outside of being a clergyman he is also an educator currently employed with the Bibb County Board of Education in Macon, GA. Known affectionately as “the bowtie bishop” Bishop Mabry is affiliated with several noted social and civic groups such as the NAACP, 100 Black Men of America and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. In addition, he is the proud husband of Tausha Mabry and through the blending of this union they parent 5 wonderful children Destiny, Marshall IV, Hayden, Hannah and Joi.

Hannah-Mariah Mabry is a 4th grade student at Springdale Elementary School in Macon. She enjoys singing in the chorus, dancing at church and reading. Hannah is an avid reader and became a Millionaire reader while in third grade and is looking to become a Double Millionaire during this school year.
Joi Jackson is a precocious 6yr old born in Augusta, GA. Currently, she attends Sonny Carter Elementary School and is in the first grade. In her spare time, she likes going to church, reading, dancing and modeling. If asked what she wants to be When she grows up, she’ll say ” A star!”

- The Mayor and Commissioners recognized the Principal Chief of the Muscogee Creek Nation, James Floyd.

- Several Macon-Bibb Parks and Recreation employees were recognized by the Commission for receiving district awards from the Georgia Recreation & Parks Association.

Old Business:
Commissioners approved reappointing Violet Poe to the Macon Transit Authority Board.
The Board approved reappointing John C. Walker III to the Macon-Bibb County Housing Authority.
Commissioners approved a request to the Legislative Delegation to introduce legislation at the state level to study pedestrian safety along state routes. To learn more about pedestrian safety in our community, visit http://psrb.maconbibb.us.
The Board approved a resolution requesting the Health Care & Retirement Benefits Committee assist in evaluating the pay scale and an annual 2% COLA (cost-of-living adjustments) for employees.
Commissioners approved the Health Care & Retirement Benefits Committee recommendations regarding the 2019 Open Enrollment Process.
The Board approved an intergovernmental ground lease agreement with the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority for “Project Dove” at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport. It has been announced that “Project Dove” is new construction at the airport for Dean Baldwin Painting. It’s expected to bring 115 local jobs.
Commissioners approved the installation of three mini-libraries at the South Bibb Recreation Center.
The Board approved an amendment to the antenna placement lease for reinforcement of the Guy Paine Road Radio Tower and other items.
Commissioners executed a quitclaim deed for the sale of property at the end of Sharon Lee Drive for a fair market value of $561.
The Board approved an amendment to the FY19 budget as part of the end of the year process.
Supplemental appropriations were approved from the General Fund to multiple funds in the FY20 Budget to account for outstanding purchase orders.

- $69,982 grant for the Sheriff’s Office and Bibb County Drug Court
- $31,906 Homeland Security Subgrant for the Fire Department
- $5,000 grant for the Sheriff’s Office to deal with downtown homelessness
- $290,070.81 H.E.A.T. grant for the Sheriff’s Office to purchase three equipped patrol vehicles and pay salaries for three officers
- $3,000 grant for Sheriff’s Office to care for and equip bomb testing dogs
- $23,905 for Pedestrian Safety Review Board’s “On the Move” campaign
- $165,711 grant for Solicitor General’s Office
- $108,841 grant for the District Attorney’s Office
Commissioners also approved a plan to apply for $2.4 million Georgia Department of Transportation LMIG (Local Maintenance Improvement Grant) funds, which requires a local match of $667,254.70. This money goes for road repairs and maintenance all over Macon-Bibb County. That match amount will come out of voter-approved SPLOST funds.
The Board approved an agreement for the use of about 16 acres of property along Lower Poplar Street for cattle grazing by Walker family.
Commissioners approved a radio systems maintenance agreement with Williams Communications for $787,486 over 3 years.
The Board approved amending the Parks and Recreation Department organizational chart to add two custodial maintenance worker positions.
Commissioners approved the 22nd amendment to the SPLOST project timeline and budget. You can view which projects are being funded in the resolution here.
The old Macon Rescue Mission building will be purchased and renovated for the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. The board approved using $1.5 million in SPLOST money for that purchase.
Commissioners approved up to $533,000 from the voter-approved SPLOST for new ball fields and building completion at the Delores A Brooks Recreation Center.
The Board approved a consent agreement and final order with US Environmental Protection Agency for remediation and improvements to the stormwater system.
