From summer camps and Movies in the Park to fitness classes and adaptive recreation, there’s a lot happening throughout the year at Macon-Bibb County’s recreation centers and parks. But have you ever wondered what it takes to make all of those programs happen?

In the newest episode of Macon It, we sit down with Macon-Bibb County Recreation Department Programmer Natalie Allen to take you behind the scenes of the programs and events that keep our community active, connected, and having fun.

Allen talks about what goes into planning and coordinating programs for people of all ages and abilities, including some of the Recreation Department’s popular summer camps, Movies in the Park, fitness opportunities, and adaptive recreation programs.

Whether it’s creating a memorable summer for a child, providing opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in recreation, helping adults stay active, or bringing families together for a movie under the stars, Allen and the Recreation team work year-round to create opportunities for people to get involved.

In the episode, we also get to know Allen beyond her job title, learn more about what brought her to Recreation, what she enjoys most about serving the community, and what people can look forward to from the department.
