On Wednesday, July 19, we celebrated the 200th day of Macon’s 200th year with a monumental picture at Rosa Parks Square. About 100 people in our community showed up to create a giant ‘200’ in the lawn.
The 200 for Macon200 Bicentennial Campaign also launched this week. The goal for the campaign is to have at least 200 donors contribute $200 each to support the creation of Macon’s Bicentennial Park. Donors will receive a special limited-edition t-shirt, and an exclusive invitation to the unveiling of the Bicentennial Park design plan. The special t-shirt design will be unveiled at the 200 for Macon200 event. You can donate here.
Bicentennial Park will be in East Macon, where Macon first incorporated as a city. This new public park will be adjacent to the second entrance of Ocmulgee National Historical Park and the Mill Hill Community Center, both located off Coliseum Drive.
