Join the Friends of Rosa Parks on Friday, February 2, at 10:00 a.m. for a Wreath Laying Ceremony to celebrate the life of Rosa Parks. She would have been 111 years old on February 4.

The ceremony will be held in Rosa Parks Square (1st Street Lane) and will be live streamed on www.Facebook.com/MaconBibbCounty. There will be remarks from Mayor Lester Miller and Board Members Andrea Cooke and Susannah Maddux.

“It’s important to highlight the accomplishments of Ms. Parks because she was a catalyst for major change,” said Friends of Rosa Parks Square Board Chair Andrea Cooke. “We will highlight the details of her accomplishments, but we are gathering to wish her a happy birthday as well.”
