Commissioner Raymond Wilder is staying busy meeting the needs of his constituents in District 6! He wants you to know about all the great things happening that will shape the area for the better.
The roundabout at Fulton Mill Road and Eisenhower Parkway is still under construction, but Commissioner Wilder says it’s already making this intersection safer for drivers and passengers and should be completed by the end of this Fall.
“Prior District 6 Commissioner Joe Allen was heavily involved in this roundabout project because there were many accidents and even fatalities over the years,” said Commissioner Wilder.
Another great addition coming to District 6 is a brand-new convenience center behind Animal Welfare on Fulton Mill Road. Construction has already begun and is expected to be completed before the end of the year. Click here to see what you can and can’t take when it’s open.
“We want to give people a place to take their excess trash and things they can’t fit in their normal receptacle,” said Commissioner Wilder. “It’s going to be an awesome advantage to have this. Our main goal behind this is to curb some of the illegal dumping.”
Lake Tobesofkee is also a big part of District 6 and is known as a “crown jewel” of the area. Sandy Beach Park recently went through some major renovations, including an enclosed pavilion and new pickleball courts.
“This lake is a major attraction in the county and the more people know about it, the more they want to use it,” said Commissioner Wilder.
