On Thursday, April 17, Macon-Bibb County hosted the U.S. Small Business Affairs (SBA) Georgia District Office and other resource providers for a Small Business Roundtable at Macon City Hall.
“The Macon-Bibb Office of Small Business Affairs has proudly partnered with the U.S. SBA since the beginning of Mayor Lester Miller’s administration,” said Office of Small Business Director Charise Stephens-Meriweather. “Together, we have worked tirelessly to provide technical assistance, vital resources, and unwavering support to small businesses throughout our community.”
More than 60 people attended the event to get an update on the services available to assist entrepreneurs with developing or advancing their business. Topics of discussion included an overview of SBA services, government contracting, certifications, financing options, resource partners, and veteran assistance.
“It was both an honor and a testament to our impact that the SBA Georgia District Office chose Macon as the launch site for its Statewide Roundtable Series,” said Stephens-Meriweather. “This recognition serves as a meaningful ‘feather in our cap’ for the dedication and hard work our team continues to invest in empowering local entrepreneurs. Moments like these reaffirm our mission and the importance of our work.”
People who spoke included leaders from Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, NewTown Macon, UGA Small Business Development Center- Macon (SBDC), SCORE Middle Georgia, Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE), Veterans Business Opportunity Center (VBOC), and more.
