The Bibb County Superior Court Clerk’s Office is offering two notary public training classes for free on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Macon-Bibb County Government Center (700 Poplar Street). Sessions will run from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 – 3:30 p.m., and is being offered in partnership with the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority.

“This training is highly recommended to anyone who is a notary or interested in becoming a notary because they will learn the legal duties, responsibilities, and ramifications of their duties and responsibilities,” says Superior Court Clerk Erica Woodford. “I think this is a great free service to the citizens of Bibb County, and you should take advantage of it!”

To become a notary public, a person should complete the online application found at www.gsccca.org, including having two Bibb County residents sign it as character witnesses. The application would then be brought to the Superior Court Clerk’s Office, along with $38.

To register for either of these sessions, contact Sharon Stafford in the Superior Court Clerk’s Office at 478-621-6527 or sstafford@maconbibb.us.
