It’s never too early to think about summer plans for your students! Our Recreation Department is getting ready to open registration for Summer Camp. Registration opens on Tuesday, April 1. You can register here.

The camps run from June 2 until July 11, lasting each day from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The cost is $180 per child for the six-week program, and that includes breakfast and lunch, field trips in the community, educational and enrichment activities, supplies for crafts, and other activities. The camps are open to children ages 5 to 15 can participate. The child must be 5 years old before September 1, 2024.

“We strive to create activities and programs that can be enjoyed by all our camp participants. The collective theme is Striving for Greatness and Macon Memories,” said Recreation Programmer Natalie Allen. “Each recreation facility will have programs designed to provide campers with a fun and educational experience. They will help build camaraderie, foster teamwork, and encourage personal growth.”

The camps are offered at the following centers: L.H. Williams, Memorial, South Bibb, Bloomfield-Gilead, Delores A. Brooks, Frank Johnson, Rosa Jackson, and Theron Ussery. This year, it will be free for campers to swim at the recreation centers that have pools. The pool locations are South Bibb Recreation Center, Frank Johnson Recreation Center, and Delores A Brook Recreation Center. Participants must follow pool rules and regulations. All participants must bring their own swimsuits and towels. Lifeguards will be on duty.
