On Monday, February 13, Mayor Lester Miller spent the afternoon recognizing and giving proclamations to different groups of students in the Bibb County School District.
Mayor Miller proclaimed:
- February 5 – 11 as National FBLA-PBL (Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda) Week with the theme “Lighting a Trail”; February 12 – 18 as HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Week and DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) Week; and February 18 – 25 as Future Farmers of America (FFA) Week.
Last, but not least, the entire month was proclaimed as Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Month. Career and Technical Education provides students with career exploration opportunities earlier in their educational experience, which enables them to make informed and beneficial decisions about their academic course work and pursue established programs of study and career pathways.
