MWA to take the reins of Stormwater Management Program

The Macon Water Authority and Macon-Bibb County will hold a press conference on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. to announce the official transfer of the Stormwater Management Program and explain what it means to customers. The press conference will be held in Commission Chambers in Government Center (700 Poplar Street), and will only be open to speakers, support staff, and the media. The transition of the Stormwater Management Program from Macon-Bibb County to the Macon Water Authority will take place January 1, 2021. The MWA was asked to assume responsibility because it has a successful record of performance in managing this type of program, understands best practices for water quality, has the in-house expertise and skilled staff to support the assets and program, and more. Tune in to the broadcast to learn more about how the MWA will be able to improve the Program and overall system to better serve the Macon-Bibb community.
