Phase two of stormwater study to proceed

June 10, 2016

Macon-Bibb Commissioners approved an agreement with the Macon Water Authority (MWA) to move on to phase two of the Stormwater Program Study. In phase two of the study, Macon-Bibb County, MWA, and a consultant will work together to identify funding, and develop a community involvement plan.

The County has been working with MWA to identify problems and needs, develop a strategy for improvement, and figure out funding for the aging infrastructure located just below our streets. Macon-Bibb County’s stormwater drainage systems are more than 2 centuries old in some places, and most of the system is in great need of repairs, upgrades, or complete replacement.
