Storm Scoop: Be Prepared

June 4, 2021

Published by

Mother Nature has a tendency to change at any given moment, especially as we are in Hurricane season from June 1 through November 30. That’s why it’s important to be prepared.
There are three important factors to keep in mind right now:
  • Have an emergency plan
  • Build an emergency kit
  • Stay informed
Your emergency plan should include a contact list, where you should go, what you should do, and where your shelter in place location should be.
When building your emergency kit, make sure it includes bottled water, non-perishable foods, batteries, medicine, weather radio, and flashlights.
You can stay informed by signing up for MBCAlert, our emergency notification system. We will send you alerts on your phone or email with information on severe weather and what you need to do to stay safe.
