Olivia Walter is a Public Relations Specialist on our Communications Team and has no idea we chose to highlight her this week. If we asked, she probably would have turned it down, but her humility and hard work are why she’s our latest Staff Spotlight.
“Olivia embodies the phrase ‘work hard, play hard’,” says Public Relations Specialist Rachel Gambill. “She keeps us laughing in our downtime, but is also a consistent and reliable team mate. It’s an honor to work with someone I admire so much!”
“Olivia is a total rock star! She not only creates quality work, but always goes out of her way to do more and help others. A true team player,” says Public Relations Specialist Edna Ruiz. “I am so proud to not only call her my co-worker, but a friend.”
“The way she sees the stories we’re telling, her expertise with video and graphics, her attention to detail, her connection to our community in multiple ways, her willingness to share what she knows with the team…she is a reason this team is nationally recognized,” says Chief Communications Officer Chris Floore. “I’m so happy she decided to join us because she’s always willing to learn more, to push herself, but also for challenging each of us to be better.”
Olivia grew up near Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from Butler University with a degree in Digital Media. From there, her talents and passions brought her to a career in sports, working for the ASUN conference before joining us in Macon-Bibb. Her love of music led her to the Bragg Jam Board where she’s served as Secretary since 2019. She also works with the graphic design and social media strategy for the concert crawl.
Olivia joined #TeamMaconBibb in May of 2021, and hit the ground running. She handles the video production side, turning out the engaging, funny, and stylish videos of our government, partners, and team members. From community events to special occasions to meaningful stories and informative PSAs – her work speaks for itself and can be seen here. Olivia is also responsible for much of our graphic design, social media, Commission Meeting audio/visuals, and she is ready and willing to help for whatever comes up.
In addition to her work with Bragg Jam and the County, Olivia is an Official Pickleball Ambassador for the United States of America Pickleball Association, and has won a state tournament meaning she will be competing at the national level. She spends much of her free time with her beloved Ernie Barks and PURRguson Jenkins. Join us in thanking Olivia for her hard work, and say hi if you see her out at Bragg Jam this weekend!
