We are shining our Staff Spotlight on a team leader who always goes above and beyond for his team and for people in our community. Robert Walker has been the Director Recreation since 2017 and has made a big difference in many people’s lives.

Robert graduated from Georgia State University in 2005 with his bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management and Leisure Services. He also earned his master’s degree in Sports Management in 2016 from Jacksonville State University.

He has worked in recreation for 15 years for the City of Macon, City of Atlanta, and now Macon-Bibb County. He currently oversees 40 active parks and recreation areas in the County. Robert has also been very instrumental in introducing innovative recreation programs and developing several community partnerships.

“I’m truly honored and thankful to know my peers selected me to be recognized for this week’s Staff Spotlight,” said Robert. “The best part about my job is serving our community through recreation. It’s a rewarding experience to know that others see the hard work, dedication, and passion that I have for recreation.”

Thank you for all that you do for our community, Robert! We are so proud to have you on #TeamMaconBibb.
