This week we are spotlighting a group of people who work tirelessly to support victims of crime. The Victim Witness Team in the Solicitor General’s office is responsible for notification of all the victims of misdemeanor crimes that come through state court. They talk one-on-one with victims, making sure they understand the court process.

The team is composed of Solicitor General Rebecca Grist, Stephanie Whitehead, Sheila Miller, Netisha Frtiz, and Dawn Raymond.

“I am so proud of this team. They are there to talk to victims through any problems that may come up,” said Grist. “They do so much. It’s kind of a ‘you name it, they do it’.”

“This team has been so great to work with on our Solicitor General Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Grants,” said Sherita Sims-Jones with the Budget and Strategic Planning Office. “They ensure the program is in compliance on the programmatic side and work with the many victims that come through this court.”

Sims-Jones nominated this team for their efforts and working so well with the Budget and Strategic Planning Office when working on grants. If you would like to nominate someone for our Staff Spotlight, email eruiz@maconbibb.us.
