The Law Enforcement Rangers at Lake Tobesofkee are ready for anything. They are sworn in under the Bibb Sheriff’s Office (BSO) and deal with customer service issues, visit campsites, make sure our park is safe for everyone to use, and prepare for any situation, both on land and water. Ranger Randall Collins has been in law enforcement for more than 30 years, and he recently received an award for getting the highest score on his firearms training certification. With his retirement nearing, his team wanted to surprise him with this week’s Staff Spotlight.
Ranger Collins was with the BSO for 29 years before going to work at Lake Tobesofkee. He’s been at the park for 2 years now and will retire at the end of this year. He’s part of a seven-person team of law enforcement rangers at the lake, and he’s known for being helpful and kind in all situations.
“I just want to praise Ranger Collins – he’s a great guy,” says Lake Tobesofkee Director Don Bracewell. “He always shows up on time and not only does his job well, but also goes above and beyond to help anyone who needs it. He’s an asset for sure when it comes to interacting with the public. We like to recognize our team members when they accomplish something great, and we’re proud of him for receiving the highest score on his recent firearms re-certification so we presented him with a trophy for that.”
Bracewell says Ranger Collins’ retirement is bittersweet.
“We really don’t want him to go! However, he’s got kids and grandchildren and will now have the opportunity to spend more time with them, which is great. We are grateful to have had him as part of our team and we congratulate him on his new position – retiree!”
Ranger Collins, we applaud you for your time spent serving and protecting our community as part of #TeamMaconBibb. Congratulations!
