Southwest High School Basketball team recognized by Mayor, Commissioners

Southwest High School’s boys varsity basketball team is representing Macon-Bibb very well by being the Region Champions and State Division IA Runner Ups. On Tuesday, March 18, during a Commission meeting, the basketball team was recognized with a proclamation declaring March 18 as Southwest Patriots Boys Varsity Basketball Team Day. 

“For you all to band together and do something positive, I love it,” District 8 Commissioner Donice Bryant told the team. “I’m always going to be your number one fan when you’re out there doing something right.” 

“As a Southwest Patriot myself, I am so proud of you all,” said Mayor Lester Miller. 

Through their unwavering commitment, discipline, and hard work, the Southwest High School Patriots Basketball Team have achieved remarkable success, displaying a level of excellence that serves as an inspiration to faculty, students, athletes, and the entire community. 

The coaching staff, led by their dedicated head coach Monquenvio Hardnett, played an instrumental role in guiding these student-athletes toward success, instilling in them the values of determination, integrity, and leadership both on and off the court.
